As working mom, I share the same struggles as many other working moms. Finding a balance between work and family, keeping up with the housework, etc. One struggle I didn’t expect – finding out that my new job was not going to provide me paid time off for maternity leave (this is in no way meant to bash my amazing company – they do offer paid maternity leave, I was just not qualified due to being so new with the company). Once I found this out, I shared my concerns with friends and family, and I kept hearing the same thing: “Why don’t you sell some of your bows?”.

Bow making was a new hobby I had picked up when I became pregnant with my second child, but I never dreamed about making money from it. When I realized that I could sell my bows at a lower price than the online boutiques I had bought from in the past, I thought “Why not sell them and charge a little less?” I knew it would be a win-win for me and all my other bow-obsessed mamas out there. Thus Mia Mykle Designs was born!
